Inspiration…all in a days work

Where do you get your inspiration from? Do you have a ‘zone’ you go into at work that allows you to dig deep, find creative ideas and then it all flows. Or do you have strategic meetings with co workers and that is where you get your inspiration from.

Well, I work for myself, so inspiration is a HUGE thing on my checklist. Today i was fortunate enough to meet with Jazskimo Creative (http://www.jazskimocreative.com) who works in similar field that I do, however Jazskimo is located in Singapore. It was enlightening to meet with her and we bounced ideas off each other in respect to marketing and self employment ideas…also we discussed the self inspiration tools.

This week has been a huge week of inspiration for my business. I have met with new and existing clients, shared marketing ideas with people who have huge potential to grow their business, and kicked some personal goals also.

But when I don’t have scheduled meetings, or clients to phone and inspire, where do i find it. Ill tell you…

I research….head down and all systems go. I read articles, I find potential companies I know I can help, I make appointments with people and discuss the huge benefits that Social Media can have for their business, more importantly, how Popfizzle can help their business. Right there, I have found my own little blue sky, my very own pocket rocket of inspiration. And I can tell you right now…it works!

Tell me what works for you…perhaps this already has? 🙂

Happy New Year – 2014

Happy New Year everyone. I know I haven’t posted for months now, But I have been snowed under with work and need to make a conscious effort to keep my cyber/blogging network updated on all events. Once a month, at least, it will happen. There is a very legit reason though, I have been soaring businesses into the cyber world, so there is more and more people joining us. Which reminds me, I must update my portfolio…very soon for you all to see what i have been working on.

So I’m sure your busting for some new fun facts and also more reason for me to convince you to join Social Media for your business and more importantly, hire me as your Social Media Manager…..really, you didn’t think i’d plug my own business, well a new year, new me 🙂

Think its not important to have your website user friendly? Think again, Smartphones is what we use most of the time now, look at this; Mobile now makes up the majority of email opens at 51%.

Not an apple fan? Still not convinced…check this out..25% of all emails are opened on an iPhone. The iPhone is still king.

Do you find yourself shutting down your email, then walking away with your phone only to check your emails on there again? I do. Clearly I make up some of 61% of webmail users open email on a mobile device.

I have said it so many times before. Use more pictures. Design flyers with statistics and adverts and make them vibrant and appealing to the eye, give your reader what they want. They want to see what you are selling, what you are discussing….With Outlook and Android securing the second and third spots in market share, upwards of one-third of your emails are likely opened with images disabled. That makes defensive design techniques like HTML text and alt text a must.

That should keep your mind ticking over for now, this should make you look through your website, see how you are going with whats ‘stale’ and what is appealing to the eye. Check your Social Media, have you crossed all your T’s and dotted the I’s? You know Popfizzle can give your Social Media Networks a once over Summer clean prepping you for the year, you never know, I may just have some sharp marketing ideas for you too 🙂

Happy New Year Everyone 🙂

Social Media…is it easy?

Hand holding a Social Media 3d Sphere

Someone made comment that Social Media is ‘easy’ I laughed this off. But then i thought longer about this statement; Right….Social Media is easy, everyone can post on their newsfeed in Facebook (as most people associate social media to Facebook only) about how great their day is, how awful their weekend was, how wonderful life is….easy right, you type your thoughts and let the whole Social Media world know whats going on.

Social Media from a business sense…easy….arh I don’t think so. Clearly if its easy for you, you have nothing else to do with your time, absolutely nothing else to do…either that or you are not utilising the tools correctly, as there is nothing easy about this factor, otherwise why would their be people like myself, Social Media Managers. There is so much that goes into Social Media for a business. How often are you engaging with your fans? Are you covering all basis for all fans or just for one aspect of your business? Are you hash tagging? Are you using videos, on Instagram, you tube, loading them to Facebook? How do you engage your readers when you can see your stats are lowering and your loosing interest in them? What attracts your readers the most? Are all of your social media feeds linking back to your website? There is a small portion of aspects, if your managing all of the above, then you are doing swimmingly and no wonder its easy for you 🙂

I would like to hear your feedback on this topic, how do you feel with your business? Are you on top of it? Do you need to spend more time on Social Media? Are you maximising it to its full potential?

Let me know! You can always email me rebecca@popfizzle.com.au

Facebook Changes

Confession time, it has been quite some time since my last Blog as i have been super busy flying through the Social Media world making new connections and doing some market research to bring you my thoughts on Social Media and here is what i have been up to! Facebook has made the change about not allowing business pages to reach all of your viewers, they want you to pay, so business page owners have been posting the following which you may have seen somewhere:

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO MY FANS**
Since Facebook imposes page administrators to pay to promote their pages, only 10% of their fans receive the updates on their wall page if they don’t pay as a result.

To keep on RECEIVING POSTS you have to OPEN THE PAGE, hover the mouse on the “Like” button near the gear symbol. In the pop-up select “ADD TO INTEREST LISTS”.

Doing so will assure that you continue getting posts from the pages you love including *insert business page here*

(There is some variations out there i have seen).

Am i right? So you all navigate over to the page and do as it has asked. In the meantime you have a slight panic and think, how am i going to get my insights up? Reach more people again?

Now i have been watching EVERYONE do this, Social Media is such a virus network. One person posts, everyone posts and next thing you are all doing it. So i tried it, yes i was hesitant for many reasons – which i will explain below, and funnily enough, my theory was right.

Some business pages might not have even noticed their insights change – that they weren’t reaching many people at all.

Now, let me ask you a few questions. You navigate over to the drop down bar and pop the page in your interests list, now do you go into your interest list and view it? As a business owner, you have posted this to your fans, you feel a sigh of relief thinking you have made a dramatic change and it will all be fixed – let me ask you this. How have you gained back the fans that are already missing from your news feeds? You post this message above but that doesn’t gain back two thirds of the people who are still missing does it? So how are you getting them back? They still don’t see your *Important Information post*.

Interesting isn’t it. You post something about regaining interaction with your Facebook people – yet you cant be seen to them in the first place so how will they see this post?

Am i making sense to you now? Your clutching at a dead end, hanging on to the straws and they just keep breaking. Sorry to burst your bubble of relief and now you haven’t drawn a breath again and i have shown you the light and you now can see sense in it all!

You need to know how to engage with your fans – how to bring them to the home straight and help you generate business again.

I don’t think your answer is getting rid of your Facebook page or letting it become stale. Continue to use your Facebook page – engage with the clientele you still have there that are seeing your posts.

There is so many other ways to bring your fans back and also create new ones. You can blog, twitter, You Tube and so on. The basic fundamentals of Social Media.

Popfizzle can help set up all of your Social Media avenues and show you how to use them all. Ask questions people! Network with business owners. PLEASE if a business comments on your status as there business page – return the favor by giving them acknowledgment by mentioning them back – so they are highlighted in blue. It really is Social Media etiquette.

Stay tuned on what you should be doing to engage better on Facebook with your fans 🙂
